
A team from the Men-Tsee-Khang successfully concluded a three-week speaking tour to South America on 3 May 2013.
The three-member team—which includes senior physician Dr Jamyang Dolma, Medical astrologer Sonam Palmo, and Mr Tseten Dorjee—visited Argentina, Chile and Colombia in South America from 12 April to 3 May.
The tour was facilitated by the CTA Liaison Officer to Latin America, Tsewang Phuntso.
In Argentina, the team spent a week in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, from 12 April to 18 April.
During their stay in Buenos Aires, they gave a series of talks at the Foundation of Health Science, Foundation Martinez Bouguet, Military General Hospital, General Hospital of Agudos Dr Pinero, and Kargyu Tekchen Choeling. They also gave medical consultations.

The visit to Buenos Aires was hosted by the Kagyu Tekchen Choeling which is the oldest Tibetan dharma center in Argentina.
From 19 to 24 April, the team visited Chile. They spent the first three days in Temuco, a small city in Southern Chile, where they gave a series of talks at the University of Santos Tomas and Catholic University of Temuco.
On completion of the trip to Southern Chile, they spent two days in Santiago, the capital of Chile. In Santiago, they gave a series of talks atPacific University, Latin American school of Oriental Medicine, and dermatology school “Centro de Estudios Levinia Manfredini”.
The visit to Chile was hosted by a group of Tibet supporters.
From 25 to 30 April, the team visited Bogota, the capital of Colombia. During their stay in Bogota, they gave talks at the Foundation Santa Fe (a research foundation of the elite University of Los Condes), Rosario University (one of the oldest university of Colombia), Seminary of the Jesuits, and FPMT-Bogota. Like elsewhere, they also gave a series of medical consultations.
The visit to Bogota was hosted by FPMT-bogota.
On the whole, the tour turned out to be very successful. The team received invitation from several universities and institutions to visit again next year and conduct workshops on Tibetan medicine.
