
DHARAMSHALA: The Dharamsala-based Tibetan Career Centre (TCC) held a convocation ceremony today to mark the conclusion of a 10-day JobAbility training for students and unemployed Tibetan youths.
Over 16 Tibetan youths, including college students, graduates, and unemployed youths, have participated in the training programme. The training was aimed to build confidence level and develop communication skills in Tibetan youths to equip them for their future job and career prospects. The training was presided over by Mr Krishna K. Pai, head consultant of Job Skills Solutions Pvt Ltd, based in Mangalore.
“The JobAbility training was conducted by the Tibetan Career Centre to prepare and provide Tibetan youngsters with cutting-edge skills and knowledge. We strive to provide better employment prospects by giving them trainings on resume writing, interviews and English communication,” said Mr Jigme Tsultrim, head consultant of TCC at the Department of Home.
“The training of Tibetan youths in exile is a priority because the youths are the future of the Tibetan struggle,” he said, adding, “a highly skilled Tibetan youth will help the Tibetan cause give a voice to the voiceless Tibetans inside Tibet.”
One participant mentioned that this training would help him overcome nervousness during interviews, while another expressed hope that this training would bring a turning-point in his career.
The Tibetan Career Centre is an undertaking of the Central Tibetan Administration’s Department of Home in collaboration with TechnoServe, based in Mumbai. It has conducted numerous training programmes for Tibetan job seekers across India through their branch offices based in Bangalore, New Delhi and in the Tibetan settlements of Bylakuppe and Mundgod.
