Cape Town: A group of protestors staged a peaceful protest outside the Chinese Consulate Office in Cape Town on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day. This marks the first such protest in Cape Town.
The protestors calling on Chinese President Xi Jinping to revise the failed human rights policies in China expressed concerns at the deteriorating human rights situation in China. Carrying images of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu, they called for freedom for Tibetans and in particular called for the release of the Tibetan language advocate Tashi Wangchuk.
