14th Dec. 2022, New Delhi : The 33rd Anniversary of the Conferment of the Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and International Human Rights Day was commemorated on 10th December 2022 in India and all over the world by Tibetans and Tibet supporters. On this occasion, Tibet Support Groups in India joined the Tibetan brethren in commemorating the day with activities and programs highlighting the Tibet issue in various towns and cities across India.
In Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh, India Tibet Friendship Society (ITFS), led by Sudesh Kumar Chandravanshi, President, ITFS Hazaribagh cum Regional Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India (CGTC-I), celebrated the Nobel Peace Prize Day and World Human Rights Day with the participation of hundreds of intellectuals and supporters of Tibet. In Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, ITFS and Tibetan Lhasa Market celebrated the occasion and organised a seminar on human rights in Tibet at Tibetan Lhasa Market. The seminar was presided over by Professor S. N. P. Sinha, ITFS Bihar President Dr Harendra Kumar and CGTC-I National Co-Convenor Surendra Kumar.
In Maharashtra’s Parbhani, the occasions were jointly organised by Tibet Supporters and Tibetan Sweater Association. Sandesh Meshram, ITFS Nagpur; Smt. Shantatai Ukhadkar Jain, ITFS member; Shivling Bodne, District President Prahar Janshakti Party; Smt. Madhavi Ghodke, Vijay Khiste, Shiv Sena, Sachin Rasal Patil, Dilip Sonawane, Advocate Santosh Jadhav, Anand Verma, Lhundup Dorje, Kelsang, Tsering Wangchuk, Smt. Yangi, Thupten Nyingjey, Yeshi and office bearers of the Tibetan Sweater Association and intellectuals, socio-political activists, entrepreneurs etc., were present. In Maharashtra’s Bhandara, ITFS and Tibetan Sweater Sellers Association jointly organised a program for International Human Rights Day and Nobel Peace Prize Day. Vidarbha Marketing Federation Director Mahendra Gadkari, Samta Sainik Dal National President Dadasaheb Kache, ITFS Maharashtra President Amrut Bansond, Samten Lbsang, Namgyal Paljor and Norbu Lekzom of the Tibetan Sweaters Association were present at the event.
In Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar, ITFS celebrated the occasion with Tibetan MP Mingyur Dorjee as the chief guest, ITFS Madhya Pradesh President Ajay Kharde as the special guest and presided over by Dr. Sharad Singh and ITFS General Secretary. Tsering Paljor and Phurbu, President of the Tibetan Sweater Sellers Association, welcomed the guests. In Rajasthan’s Jodhpur, India Tibet Friendship Association and Tibetan Sweater Sellers Association commemorated the occasion with great enthusiasm through a ceremonial function. The program was organised under the supervision and direction of Resham Bala, National Women Convener and State President, ITFS Rajasthan.
India Tibet Friendship Society also commemorated the day in Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Nainital (Uttarakahand), Sitamarhi (Bihar), Ranchi (Jharkhand), Bangalore and Mysore (Karnataka).
Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch (BTSM) commemorated both events in a befitting manner where Tibetan women, leaders, and the Vice President of BTSM Gujarat Province, Kantibhai Randeria and Associate BTSM member Pradeepbhai Parekh were also present. In Rajasthan’s Bikaner, BTSM organized a seminar and condemned the human rights abuses committed by Communist China in India’s neighbouring country Tibet. Sunil Banthia, District President of Bikaner Forum, highlighted the repression of democracy committed by the Chinese government and human rights violations of Tibetans inside Tibet.
In Mahakaushal Prant, BTSM and other Tibet support groups, celebrated the occasion in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. Tibetan MP Mingyur Dorjee was welcomed as the keynote speaker by Bittu Pande Pehalwan, BTSM District President. Tibetan Sweater Sellers Association members also participated. A seminar was organised by BTSM Shriganganagar, Rajasthan, attended by Tibetan sweater sellers in Shriganganagar. BJP District President Atmaram Tarad as the chief guest, and Sharad Agarwal, BTSM District President, as the chief speaker, attended the program.
In Haryana’s Gurugaram, BTSM organised a cultural program where Gurugram MLA Sudhir Singla and daughter-in-law of former Prime Minister late Lal Bahadur Shastri and BTSM National Secretary Smt. Neera Shastri was present. Hundreds of guests and colleagues attended the event along with Tibetans and North East friends. During the program, members of the Ladakh Students Union and North East Student Union presented beautiful glimpses of Tibetan, Bhutanese, Laddakhi and Himachali folk dance. In Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, the 33rd anniversary of the Dalai Lama Nobel Peace Prize program was organised by BTSM with Tibetan Sweater Sellers Association with chief guest Gwalior Mayor Shobha Satish Sikarwar, BTSM Central India Province, Arjun Agarwal; State President Women Department Monika Jain, Provincial Contact Head of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Kamal Bhadoria and Neelam Gupta attended the program.
Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch also commemorated the occasion in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Varanasi, Punjab, Chattisgarh, Awadh, Malwa, Bhilwada, Bihar, Meerut, Konkan, Indore, Surat, Muzaffarnagar, Bhilwada, Allahabad and Bilaspur with a signature campaign to highlight the human rights violation in Tibet and to support the Tibetan movement.
Bharat Tibbat Samnvay Sangh (BTSS) commemorated the occasion with Tibetan brothers and sisters in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. A special event took place in the Tibetan market of Lucknow. In this event, BTSS Central Convener Hemendra Tomar, State President Himanshu, National Executive Member Sachin Srivastava, National Executive Member Youth Anoop Bajpai, State General Secretary Mukesh Tiwari, Area General Secretary (Youth) Jai Narayan Singh, Province Executive Member, Youth Lal Babu Tiwari, Lucknow District Chief Convenor Amit Gandhi, Province Women General Secretary Dr. Kalpana Singh, Province Coordinator of Competition Division Atul Yadav etc. were present. In Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, BTSS led by Tejas Chaturvedi organised a program to commemorate the day at Tibetan Market, Ramlila Maidan, Badadevi joined by Tibetan brothers and sisters.
In Delhi, BTSS commemorated the occasion at Tibetan Children Village School, Majnu Ka Tila. At the program, Namgyal Tsekey , National President (Women’s Department); Sandhya Singh (North Zone President, Women’s Department); Ajit Dubey, (Province Coordinator, IT Division, Delhi Province), Sadhna (Delhi Province Vice President Women Department), Advocate Ranveer Singh Bainsla (Delhi Provincial Vice President Youth Department), Hridayan Singh (District President, Children’s Department, Dwarka District), Umesh Chauhan, Sandeep Kumar, Nishant Sharma and other workers were present. In Rajasthan’s Udaipur, BTSS members with the Tibetan community celebrated the occasion. Chittor Province President Dinesh G. Gupta, Raman Sood and Regional General Secretary (North West Region) Sanjay Soni were present at the ceremony.
A joint program by BTSS, TYC and other organisations was organised at Shimla’s Sher-e-Punjab Chowk under the supervision of Tenzing Sungrab, the state vice president of BTSS. In Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh, a program was organised with Tibetan brothers and sisters under the aegis of BTSS. The program was presided over by Tsewang Dhundup, President Tibetan Market Association. The program was coordinated by Dheeraj Singh. The objective of the program was India’s security, the freedom of Tibet and the liberation of Kailash Mansarovar. Dr. Ghanshyam Dubey shed light on human rights abuses in Tibet. Sandeep Tyagi Rasam, Regional President of Western Uttar Pradesh, participated in prayers with Tibetan brothers and sisters in the Tibetan Market in Gajprastha, Ghaziabad.
Bharat Tibbat Samnavay Sangh commemorated the occasion in Dehradun (Uttarkhand) and Noida (Uttar Pradesh).
Antarrashtriya Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Samiti (ABTSS) commemorated the anniversary of the Nobel Peace Prize on His Holiness the Dalai Lama and World Human Rights Day in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
Tibet Support Groups in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, celebrated the occasion through long-life prayers for His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
