London: In an endeavour to foster the Tibetan language and culture knowledge of children during the dynamic nature of this time. Tibet House Trust, London has virtually reinstated on BlueJeans its language and culture Sunday school which had to adjourn in the month of March, due to uncertainties and for precaution measures related to spread of COVID-19 pandemic originated from Wuhan, China.
Considering the necessity to instil in the future generation with Tibetan values, knowledge of Tibetan language and culture. Tibet House Trust first started Tibetan Language classes in the year 1996. Since then numbers of students has ascended, currently, there are fifty-four students and are being taught Tibetan language, music (Dra-nyen) and history by four experienced teachers with pure sincerity.
To equip the teachers before the start of virtual school, training was organised on 1st July and 4th July. Mr.Tsering Dorjee Dothar, Senior cloud support engineer at Note4 IT company the UK, has imparted knowledge of technical parts and how to use the features of BlueJeans effectively. Dr Ngawang Phuntsok, Professor and Chair of the Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education, California State University has taught the importance of creating an environment which makes children enthusiastic about learning. He has expressed the need for evolving and advancing teaching methods with time. He shared with the teachers how schools in America allocated many school years in developing children’s writing skills.
With lots of excitement and enthusiasm from children and parents, London Tibetan language and culture school was reinstated virtually. Evolving to facilitate functional adaptation by curtailing the disadvantage and promote development during the crisis.
