Tibet Expo Gets Great Response at Kollegal [Friday, 10 September 2010, 2:40 p.m.]

Kollegal: A two-day photo exhibition on Tibet at Kollegal Dhondenling Tibetan Settlement
drew more than 2,000 visitors, which mainly consist of Tibetan settlers
including students and teachers. The exhibition was organised by the
Tibet Museum of Department of Information and International Relations
(DIIR) from 8 to 9 September 2010.During the inaugural
ceremony, Settlement officer Karma Senge briefed the gathering about
the objectives behind holding the exhibition in the settlement,
following which the head of the Tanak Monastery, Trulku Pema Tamdin,
opened the exhibition. On the evening of 8 September, Tashi
Phuntsok, an official of Tibet Museum, presented a detail introduction
about the structure and functions of DIIR and Tibet Museum through
power point presentation. Some Tibet related documentaries movies like
“What Remain of Us”, “China Brutality Exposed in Tibet”, “Lhamo Tso:
Behind the Sea” and “Leaving Fear Behind” were screened at community
hall during the two-day event.Some 60 panels were put on
display portraying the life of Tibetans in exile for the last 50 years,
and the past and present situation inside Tibet. The Tibet Museum traveling exhibition team will be holding their next photo exhibition in Goa on 13 and 14 September 2010.
