Dharamshala: 23 Tibet Corps volunteers led by Program officer of Tibet Corps Jigme Yangchen gained a blissful audience with the Tibetan Spiritual Leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama at his residence this morning.
The group was highly anticipating the arrival of His Holiness when His Holiness appeared with a pleasant smile while greeting the members.
As His Holiness was escorted towards his seat, each of the Tibet Corps members lined up with the Tibetan scarf to receive blessing from His Holiness.
His Holiness acknowledged and commended the volunteers for their dedication to serve the community and meanwhile emphasised the importance of Tibetan culture, language, and tradition and thus counseled them to preserve the distinct Tibetan cultural heritage and language.
The group of Tibet Corps along with other devotees then took a group picture with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
“I feel very blessed and fortunate that I got a chance to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama so close for the first time in my life. It was indeed a mixed feeling. I would like to thank Tibet Corps for this opportunity and will be indebted towards the organisation,” said Kunsang Yelphel, an intern at DIIR, CTA.
Tibet Corps aims to offer Tibet university students, professionals, and retirees an opportunity and platform to serve the Tibetan community through voluntary service. The program seeks to inspire Tibetans to strengthen the community, its institution and the Central Tibetan Administration.
