Kushinagar: On 11th December 2025, the India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO) continued its Tibet-Awareness Talk Series at Maharshi Arvind Vidya Mandir High School, Kushinagar, in collaboration with Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch – a committed Tibet Support Group. The school, which offers science and commerce streams and has over three thousand students, selected 150 students from classes XI and XII to ensure an effective and focused learning experience. Before the session, an essay competition was organised by language teacher Shri Janardan Ji to help students connect academically with the topic and deepen their understanding of Tibet.
The awareness session began with students chanting the “Deep Mantra” while the dignitaries lit the ceremonial lamp. The session was graced by Principal Shri Dharminder Mishra, Vice Principal Shri Ranjit Upadhyay, Retired Lecturer Shri Suresh Gupta, Hindi Teacher Shri Janardan, Acting Lecturer Shri Dharminder Ojha, Tashi Dekyi, Coordinator of ITCO, and Shublal Sah, National General Secretary of Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch.
Tashi Dekyi introduced Tibet by highlighting its geography, rivers, cultural identity, and the critical human rights situation under the Chinese Communist regime. She also explained the Middle Way Approach proposed by the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). To help students visualise Tibet’s historical independence, she presented pictures of Tibet’s national flag, passport, various treaties, and India’s diplomatic mission in Lhasa.
Principal Shri Dharminder Mishra stressed the importance of the Tibet issue and reminded students that such situations could affect any nation. He compared Tibet’s struggle to India’s fight for independence and urged students to support Tibet through knowledge, awareness, and cultural understanding.
The Vice Principal, Shri Ranjit Upadhyay, further expressed solidarity by stating, “Tibet is India’s friend, and Tibetans are India’s guests.” The school administration honoured Tashi Dekyi for her contributions and presented prizes to the top three students of the essay competition. ITCO also felicitated the dignitaries for their support of the Tibet cause. The program concluded with a patriotic song led by Shri Janardan, followed by a photo session and interactive discussion.
The school warmly encouraged ITCO to conduct similar sessions in the future. ITCO expressed sincere gratitude to Shublal Sah and the school administration for their cooperation, support, and dedication toward organising such meaningful awareness programs.
