DHARAMSHALA: A three-day meeting on mathematics textbook for class three to five is currently underway in Gangchen Kyishong. The meeting is being organised by the department of education to standardise basic mathematics text book for Tibetan schools, in accordance with the Basic Education Policy of Central Tibetan Administration.

Participants in the meeting include Education Officer Mr. Tsering Samdup, former Additional Secretary Mr. Tashi Dhondup, Mr. Pema Gyaltsen, senior maths teacher from CST Shimla, Mr. Ngawang Dorjee, a retired maths teacher from Lower TCV, Ms. Tsewang Lhamo, maths teacher from Petoen school and Mr. Lobsang Tenzin.

The three-day meeting will deliberate on the recommendations proposed by the mathematics review meeting held in May last year. Once the standardisation process is completed, the textbooks will be issued to Tibetan schools from academic year 2015.

The meeting will conclude on 20 February.
