Dharamshala:Some 3,000 devotees from across the globe have converged this morning at Tsuglakhang to hear His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings on Nagarjuna’s Commentary on Boddhicitta (jangchup semdrel).
These include over 500 people from the South-East Asian countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, etc, along with some 730 people from about 40 countries in Europe and other parts of the world. The remaining 2,000-odd are Tibetans from across India.
The three-day teaching beginning here this morning is being conferred at the request of Ocean of Wisdom Society in Singapore.
In a brief address before the teaching, His Holiness the Dalai Lama underlined that the relationship between Tibet and Singapore dates back to thousands of years, when Jowoje Dipankara visited Singapore to receive the teaching on the commentary on Boddhicitta.
His Holiness will tomorrow give teachings on Kamalashila’s Middle Stages of Meditation (gomrim barpa), followed by an Avalokiteshwara (Chenresig) initiation on 5 September.
