Delegates from 30 Buddhist centres from 10 European countries are attending the conference including those From Belgium, France, Holland, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Norway, Finland and Estonia have deputed 40 delegates to the conference.
The meeting will primarily take inspiration from the recent conference held in Dharamshala on the issue of reincarnation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Chinese devious policies on reincarnation. Special encouragement is taken from the latest resolution of the Tibetan Buddhist leaders of November 27. A declaration is expected to be adopted tomorrow at the end of the conference.
Meanwhile, a dinner reception was hosted by the organisers on Friday evening which was attended by the board members of Yeunten Ling and delegates of the conference. Hon. Mr Samuel Coglaliti, MP of Federal Parliament of Belgium representing the local area of Huy and Mr Julien Andre of the Huy municipality represented the Mayor—both addressed the gathering—the first at the dinner and the latter at the cocktail reception,
As much as the local politicians appreciated the Centre and applauded the conference, the participants had this rare opportunity of knowing each other and visiting another centre.
The conference is being facilitated mainly by Office of Tibet, Brussels, joined by Offices of Tibet in Geneva and London and it is being co-hosted by Tibetan Institute, Yeunten Ling.
