
The Tibet Museum Holds Traveling Exhibitions in Wisconsin for Six Days
Madison: As part of the Tibet Museum’s travelling exhibitions across the United States commemorating the beginning of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s year-long 90th birthday celebration, Additional Secretary Namgyal Tsewang and Museum Director Tenzin Topdhen from the Department of Information and International Relations (CTA) held series of exhibitions in Wisconsin for six days from 15 to 20 February 2025.
On 15 February, the exhibition was held at the Centre for Healthy Minds at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. It was inaugurated by Dr Richard J. Davidson, the Director of the Centre for Healthy Minds.
For the Tibetans in the region, the exhibition was held at Wisconsin Tibetan Association’s Phuntsok Dharagyeling Cultural Center from 16 to 19 February. The chief guests at the exhibition’s opening ceremony were former Dane County Executive Joe Parisi and Dr Zorba Pastor, who is His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s allopathic physician and a close friend. Dr Zorba mentioned that during his recent visit to Dharamshala, His Holiness the Dalai Lama was in very good health, His energy was excellent, and the knee treatment had been very successful.
Throughout the exhibition at Phuntsok Dharagyeling Cultural Center, many visitors showed up, predominantly the students from Wisconsin Tibetan Language and Cultural School and local Tibetans. Hence, an introduction to the exhibition and a Q&A session were held for the students of Wisconsin Tibetan Language and Cultural School on 17 February.
On 20 February, the exhibition was held at the Memorial Union of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
From 20 to 23 February, the travelling exhibition will be held in Chicago, Illinois.
