The Dalai Lama Trust in New York Announces Graduate Scholarship[Tuesday, 22 March 2011, 2:40 p.m.]

The Dalai Lama Trust in New York will award its first round of graduate
scholarship grants in June 2011 for the academic year 2011-2012, an announcement posted on its website
said.Five
exceptional candidates of Tibetan descent would be selected to receive
scholarship awards of up to $15,000 each. Multi-year awards would be
considered.The purpose of the scholarship programme is to
further the human capital development of the Tibetan people by
supporting the pursuit of excellence among Tibetan students in the
graduate field of their choice. In order to apply, applicants
must be enrolled in or already accepted to a graduate degree programme
in a university in Europe or North America, and must demonstrate proof
of Tibetan heritage. The completed application form along
with all supporting documents must be post marked or emailed (in PDF
format) on or before 31 May 2011 to the Dalai Lama Trust. Receipt of
applications will be acknowledged by email. Selected applicants will be
contacted for a phone interview. Awards will be announced by 30 June
