
Canberra: The 43rd Sakya Trizin, Kyabgon Gyana Vajra Rinpoche, arrived in Canberra yesterday and was warmly welcomed at the newly constructed Sakya Temple of Peace by Lama Choedak Rinpoche, Spiritual Director of the Tibetan Buddhist Society, along with Representative Karma Singey from the Office of Tibet, members of the Tibetan Buddhist Society, and the ACT Tibetan community.
The president of the Tibetan Buddhist Society, Rachel Weis, and Lama Choedak Rinpoche delivered welcome addresses, followed by the Mendrel Tensum offering by Lama Choedak Rinpoche and Representative Karma Singey.
During this visit, Kyabgon Gyana Vajra Rinpoche will lead a series of sacred teachings and empowerments, including the Vajrakilaya Torma Empowerment, Amitayus and Hayagriva Long-Life Empowerments, as well as the consecration of the new Sakya Temple of Peace.
Earlier in his Australian tour, the Rinpoche visited the SIBA Retreat Centre in Victoria, where he bestowed empowerments including Vajrasattva, Green Tara, and Hevajra.
