
Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh: Nagpur-based activist Shri Sandesh Meshram, a member of the Core Group for Tibetan Cause–India, is currently undertaking the “6th Janjagaran Cycle Yatra: Pedalling for Freedom, Speaking for Tibet,” a long-distance awareness campaign in support of the Tibetan cause.
The Yatra began on 9 December 2025 from Bumla, near the Tibet border in Arunachal Pradesh, and is scheduled to conclude at Shillong, Meghalaya, on 9 February 2026. Covering an estimated 2,604 kilometres, the journey passes through Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya. The initiative also carries symbolic significance as it coincides with the Year of Compassion.
As part of his journey, Shri Sandesh Meshram reached the Dhargyeling Tibetan Settlement in Tezu (Arunachal Pradesh), where he was accorded a warm reception by residents on 5 January 2026. The following day, 6 January, he addressed a public gathering, outlining the objectives of his sixth Janjagaran Yatra and calling upon the Tibetan community to remain actively engaged in advocating for their cause.
Shri Meshram is scheduled to resume his journey on 8 January, heading towards the Miao Choephelling Tibetan Settlement. The residents of Dhargyeling Tibetan Settlement have extended their best wishes for his safety and the successful completion of the Yatra.
