
Dharamshala: The tenth session of the 16th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile is adjourned till May 2021 during which an additional parliamentary session will be held, said Speaker Pema Jungney addressing the floor on Saturday, 27 March.
In his final remarks, the Speaker congratulated the house on the passage of various important resolutions, Private Members’ bill and resolution, Private Member’s statement, financial business, Kashag’s clarification, official resolutions, and the budget passed for the fiscal year 2021-22.
The 12-day session approved a budget of 2,698.13 million rupees for the fiscal year, of which political campaigning received maximum allocation of 637.78 million rupees, followed by education with 602.32 million rupees.
Similarly, 590.23 million rupees was approved for administrative expenses, 506.98 million rupees for welfare services, 235.41 million rupees for health care services, 62.21 million for legislature purposes and 60.57 million rupees approved for the preservation and promotion of religion and culture.

Finally, Speaker expressed his appreciation and applauded the wholehearted participation of the parliamentarians in the discussions while also acknowledging the Budget Estimate Committee, concerned departments, and staff for their concerted effort.
The house will meet again in May for an additional session.
