His Holiness the Dalai Lama will begin Friday (10 July) a three-day
teachings at the request of the Sakya Monastery in Kaza, the main town
of the Spiti valley. The Spiti valley is a remote mountain desert
region in the Himalaya, lying in the North East of the Indian hill
state of Himachal Pradesh, and forming part of the Lahaul and Spiti
district.On 11 and 12 July, His Holiness will confer the Avalokiteshvera Initiation (chenresig wangchen).The
people of Himalayan region of India paid tribute of gratitude to His
Holiness the Dalai Lama on his seventy-fourth birthday celebratory
function in New Delhi, on 6 July.Tibetans living across the
globe commemorated the birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and
prayed for his long life and peaceful resolution of Tibet issue.
