
DHARAMSHALA: Mr. Tashi Dhondup, who have secured the most number of votes during the recent by-election for a member of Tibetan Parliament from Domey constituency was sworn-in today.
The swearing in ceremony was administered by Mr. Penpa Tsering, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and attended by Deputy Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and members of the standing committee of the Tibetan Parliament.
The by-election was necessitated by the resignation of Kirti Dolkar Lhamo, a three-time member of Tibetan Parliament in November last year.
Mr. Tashi Dhondup hails from Golog Serta and currently resides in Nepal. He won the by-election with with 586 votes (57.17%).
