Subsidised Treatment for 27 Cataract Patients in Kollegal

After diagnosing 27 people as needy of operation in a three-day survey to detect cataract patients in the Dhondenling Tibetan Settlement, Kollegal, with a population of about 4,000 people, the staff of the settlement’s Van Thiel Hospital helped the patients, most aged above 65 years, get operated at the G.M. Eye Hospital in Metupalyam town from 15-18 July. The Dhondenling hospital, one of the seven hospitals run across India by the Department of Health of the Central Tibetan Administration, paid in full or part of the treatment expenses.
