Special Prayer Service Held in Taipei for Ladakh and Tibet Flood Victims[Sunday, 15 August 2010, 11:00 am]

Taipei:
The Tibet Religious Foundation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama based in
Taipei Saturday organised a special prayer service for the people
affected by the devastating cloudburst in Leh Ladakh and massive floods
and mudslides in Drugchu region in Tibet’s Amdo Province. The staff and students of the foundation gathered in the prayer hall and offered prayers from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm (local time).

Geshe
Jampal Chozin, religious teacher of the foundation, led the prayer
service, which was also attended by around 50 students through an
online service during dharma class at the foundation’s newly
established branch at Taichung city. The students lit candles and lamps
to offer their prayers and sympathy to those who have lost their
precious lives in the natural disasters. The Tibet Religious
Foundation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed its deep
appreciation to all the students for their voluntarily support in
organising the prayer service.
