
DHARAMSHALA: Speaker Penpa Tsering of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile met Mr Kevin Lindsay, Commissioner of Minnesota Department of Human Rights and members of the Tibetan community in Chicago and Madison from 6 -10 December. He was in Minnesota at the invitation of the Tibetan American Foundation of Minnesota (TAFM).
He visited the Gyuto temple where he met several students participating in Lamton, an education and leadership program that provides tutoring to middle and high school Tibetan students. He also visited the Tibetan Culture School (TCS) in Minnesota, which is a k-8 weekend Tibetan language and culture school with more than 138 students.

The Speaker addressed the Tibetan public in Minnesota on 7 December. He spoke about the Middle Way Approach of the Central Tibetan Administration and other important issues facing the Tibetan communtiy. He said that the Middle Way Approach is the most practical and logical solution to resolve the issue of Tibet. His talk was followed by a question and answer session.
Speaker Penpa Tsering left Minnesota on 11 December for Washington DC. His other programs in the US include visits to Vermont, Connecticut and New York.
