DHARAMSHALA: Speaker Penpa Tsering of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and Pema Jungney, former speaker and current member of Tibetan Parliament called on Hon’ble Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Shri Brij Bihari Lal Butail in his chamber in Shimla on 22nd October 2013. They were accompanied by  Mr. Tsering Tashi, Tibetan Settlement Officer of Shimla.

The parliamentarians honoured each other with Tibetan traditional scarves (Katas) and exchange of souvenirs. Speaker Penpa Tsering then congratulated the Shri Bihari Lal Butail for the golden jubilee celebration of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

They discussed in detail about His Holiness the Dalai Lama addressing the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in the upcoming winter session.

Mr Penpa Tsering then requested the honourable Speaker to inaugurate the new building of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile . The Honourable Speaker kindly accepted the request and the inauguration is scheduled on 2nd December 2013.

Mr Penpa Tsering discussed with him about reviving Himachal Legislative Forum for Tibet, upcoming world parliament Forum for Tibet gathering in Strasbourg, hosting dinner reception for Himachal legislators in Dharamsala and also briefed him about the current critical situation in Tibet.
