DHARAMSHALA: As invited by the organisers of the International Buddh Purnima Divas celebration in New Delhi, Speaker Penpa Tsering and Deputy Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel of the Tibetan Parliament attended the celebration held at Talkatora stadium on 4 May.

The chief guest at the occasion was Shri. Narendra Modi, honorable Prime Minister of India. Other dignitaries at the celebration include Shri. Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Dr. Mahesh Sharma from the Ministry of Tourism.

Home Kalon Dolma Gyari and Religion and Culture Kalon Mr. Pema Chhinjor of the Central Tibetan Administration along with Tibetan Parliamentarians Geshe Rongpo Lobsang Nyandak and Geshe Monalm Tharchin were also present at the celebration.

Following the celebration, Speaker Penpa Tsering and the Deputy Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel went to Lama Lobsang’s Ashoka Mission and met with Indian officials and dignitaries.
