31st Aug. 2022, Leh: Core Group for Tibetan Cause – India (CGTC-I) Ladakh Region together with Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) Youth Wing and Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC) organized a Solidarity Run for Indian army on the 2nd death anniversary of Pawo Nyima Tenzin in Leh, Ladakh on 30th August, 2022.
Around 150 students from different schools of Ladakh, Tibet supporters, local Ladakhi and Tibetans altogether joined the event. Chief Guest on the occasion Madam P. D. Nitya, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Leh flagged off the Solidarity Run from Leh Market at 7 am and the run after covering a distance of 10 km concluded at Shiwatsel, Leh where the statue of Pawo Nyima Tenzin is located.
After offering wreath of flowers and khatak by the prominent guests to the statue of Pawo Nyima Tenzin, LBA President Thupstan Chewang spoke about the commitment of Ladakhi population to be with the Indian army in safeguarding the border. He said that this event is to let the world know that the sacrifice made by Pawo Nyima Tenzin will not go wasted. Similarly, LBA Women Wing and Vice President, Gompa Association also spoke on the same line as LBA President that our solidarity with Indian army is rock solid.
CGTC-I Regional Convener Phonsok Ladakhi thanked and appreciated LBA for accepting the collaboration in organizing the event and supporting the just cause of Tibet. He specially thanked Thupstan Chewang for his visionary decision to collectively raising the Tibet issue and sending signal around the world that Tibet issue is very serious and the world cannot ignore it too long.
Phonsok Ladakhi also dedicated a song on the occasion singing Long sho, Tibetans get up. Act before it’s too late with slogans of Bod Gyalo and Jai Tibbat.
SSP Leh Madam P. D. Nitya stressed that such event should be held regularly so the younger generation will get inspiration from brave martyrs like Nyima Tenzin and others. She said that such event is a nation building effort.
