DHARAMSHALA:  Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay yesterday addressed a ‘Public Health’ workshop organised by the Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration at the Hotel Tibet, Dharamshala.

Sikyong Dr Sangay spoke about the importance of health and the role nurses play in Tibetan schools. He said that the valuable services provided by school nurses in Tibetan schools impacts not just the students but affects the larger Tibetan community’s health as well, and he expressed his hope that the nurses will do their best to create a healthy society after returning to their bases.

The Sikyong also thanked the team of medical professionals from the National Yang Ming University in Taiwan, for their dedication to train Tibetan school nurses through this workshop.

The workshop on ‘Public Health’ is being organised from 15-19 July to equip Tibetan school nurses with healthcare education and awareness.
