Leh, Ladakh: Following the successful visits and engagements in Jangthang Nyoma, Sikyong Penpa Tsering headed for Jangthang Kagshung and then towards Koyul – two of the nomadic Tibetan settlements closest to the Indo-Tibet border – to conduct his official engagements.
Upon arrival at Kagshung, Sikyong received a heartfelt reception from the members of the Tibetan community. Following this, Sikyong and his entourage toured the Department of Home’s project sites in the area. Sikyong then addressed the gathering at the community hall.
Likewise, Sikyong conducted a similar engagement in Koyul, a Tibetan settlement half an hour away from Kagshung, to conduct similar engagements. There, Sikyong also met with dignitaries from the area to encourage goodwill between the two groups and ask for assistance in enhancing the welfare of the Tibetan populace.
In his keynote address during the public talk in the above settlements, Sikyong spoke about the 16th Kashag’s political and administrative endeavours and the results it so far realised. Regarding the long-standing Tibet-China conflict, Sikyong acknowledged that Kashag is always attentive to changes in global politics to manoeuvre through to resolve it.
