Sikyong Penpa Tsering Extends Congratulations to His Excellency Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on His Reappointment as External Affairs Minister
Dharamshala: Sikyong Penpa Tsering, on behalf of the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan people, wrote a letter to convey his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on his reappointment as the Government of India’s Minister of External Affairs.
“On this occasion, I wish to express our deep gratitude to the Government of India and its people for the unwavering support and generosity extended to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan community across India. For Tibetans in Tibet, India is revered as ‘the land of the noble ones’, and for those in exile, it has become a home away from home, where we have been able to preserve and practice our distinct culture, language, and heritage,” Sikyong acknowledged in the congratulatory letter.
Sikyong further wrote, “Your sharp and robust foreign policy initiatives have played a pivotal role in further elevating India’s global standing. With a legacy deeply rooted in the principles of nonviolence and dialogue, India’s leadership is more crucial than ever in contributing towards a more secure world, especially in today’s era of senseless war and unrest” while commending the outstanding efforts of His Excellency Dr Jaishankar in upholding India’s values of nonviolence, dialogue, and cooperation on the global stage.
“As we continue our centuries-old spiritual and strategic ties, I look forward to working closely with your office to further strengthen our friendship and seek your continued support and cooperation in the speedy resolution of the Sino-Tibet conflict. The Tibetan cause continues to draw inspiration from India’s unique tradition of nonviolence,” the letter concluded.
