Dharamshala: Sikyong Penpa Tsering extended Kashag’s congratulations on the inauguration of Khamgar Druk Dharmakara College of Buddhist Cultural and Welfare Charitable Trust this morning at Tashi Jong.
He commended the organisation for its philanthropic service and the achievements they have garnered over the period of 13 years since its establishment in 2010. In addition, Sikyong also lauded the lamas, academic teachers and staff for their dedication and commitment to nurturing and fostering many scholars including those belonging to Bhutan and the Himalayan region who have remarkably contributed in their respective communities.
“Considering the high attendance of scholars at this institute, it is my belief and hope that this institute shall become globally recognised as a significant learning centre,” Sikyong remarked. He further requested the institute’s cooperation in the initiatives and programs facilitated by the CTA’s Department of Religion and Culture and also urged their scholars’ participation in the 6th Non-Sectarian Tibetan Buddhist Scholars’ Conference that is scheduled in June next year at Tashi Jong.
The consecration ceremony was graced by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and attended by the leadership of the Central Tibetan Administration, Himachal’s Chief Parliamentary Secretary Kishori Lal, Tibetan parliamentarians, Secretaries of Religion and Culture and Education, and representatives of local Tibetan organisations.
