Miao: Sikyong Penpa Tsering and the delegation of CTA, who is currently on a two-week-long maiden visit to the Tibetan settlements in the North East region, arrived in Miao Choephelling Tibetan settlement on Thursday, 3 November.
Dignitaries and public leaders at Sikyong’s reception were ADC Miao-Ibom Tao, EAC Namrata Bhatt Tiwari, TSO Dorjee Rinzin, LTA President Rinzin Dorjee, BRDL President Shanyi, RTYC President Tamdin, EX-Army Chair Sonam Dorjee, Executive Engineer (Power Dept.) Shri Last Khimun, Co-Operative Society Chairman and Secretary, and School Headmaster Karma Tsetan.
As per Sikyong’s customary to auspiciously mark the beginning of official engagements, he first visited Pema Choeling monastery in the settlement and offered prayers.
Following that, Sikyong inaugurated the settlement’s camp leaders’ office cum guest room. And then, he visited Miao Old People’s Home, Miao Sambhota Pre Primary School, Baby Crèche, Men-Tsee-Khang branch, Miao Tibetan Primary Health Centre, Office of Choephelling Tibetan Service Cooperative Society Ltd, Office of Tibetan Women’s Association, Office of Ex-Servicemen association, Office of local Tibetan Assembly, drinking water project site, and Miao Choephelling Tibetan Settlement office.
