Dharamshala: Today in the morning after prayer service at Tsuglagkhang, Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration attended the inauguration of Apex multi-speciality hospital in Dharamshala.
The newly built hospital was intended to serve the locals in proximity, including the Tibetan community of Dharamshala. Hence, the inauguration ceremony kicked off with auspicious verses from Tibetan monks, followed by Sikyong Penpa Tsering cutting the ribbon. The attendees gathered inside the lobby room, where several distinguished guests spoke after the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The guest of honour Dr Mahajan, Cardiologist, recollects his experiences of the lengthy service at the event attended by distinguished guests, doctors and journalists.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Sikyong Penpa Tsering mentioned the location of the hospital would directly benefit Tibetans and commended the hospital for offering special consideration to discount CTA’s staff.
“For us, not just the government of India, but the state government of Himachal Pradesh and the people of India have been very supportive at the worst and most critical period of our history when we have to seek refuge here in India,” said Sikyong Penpa Tsering while addressing the gathering. Although Tibetans settle across India and the globe, Sikyong said, “Dharamshala remains the centre of existence for Tibetans” and hence appreciated the Chief Ministers of successive government and the friends of Tibet in Dharamshala for the perpetual support.
