Tenzingang, Arunachal Pradesh: Sikyong Penpa Tsering who is currently on North-East India maiden tour have arrived in Tenzingang settlement this afternon after successfully concluding official engagements in Tuting on Monday.
Sikyong and the CTA delegation’s arrival at Khalakthang helipad was received by Tenzingang settlement officer Tenzin Rinchen and the local Indian dignitaries.
Upon arrival at Tenzingang settlement, Sikyong received a grand reception from Tibetan community headed by Tenzingang Settlement Officer Tenzin Rinchen, President of Tibetan cooperative Sither Tsering, Tibetan Cooperative Society Secretary Rinchen Wangchuk, President of Local Tibetan Assembly Phuntsok Tsering, President of Bod Rangwang Denpai Legul Tashi Tsering, Gyuto Monastery Chagzod Ngawang Thabgye and Tibetan Women’s Association representative Tenzin Dolma. Also present at the reception were some local dignitaries including Deputy Commissioner of West Kameng Karma Leki, ADC Khalakthang Anu Baming, ADC Rupa Division Suraj Gurung, EAC Lobsang Tsetan, EAC Bhomdila Arvind Panging, Sher Gaon Circle Officer Anjali Siga & SP Kekdam Lingo.
Sikyong Penpa Tsering began his first-day engagements in Tenzingang by visiting Gyuto monastery to offer obeisance. He was accompanied by Karma Leki, Deputy Commissioner of West Kameng and EAC Lobsang Tsetan. Thereafter Sikyong and the CTA delegation visited apple and kiwi farm before retiring for the day. The visit was toured by Kalsang Wangmo, Agriculture Extension Officer.
Sikyong is scheduled to stay in Tenzingang for a day during which, he will visit the local Tibetan organisations to review the projects being implemented. Sikyong will then visit the Sambhota school and address the teachers and students. He is also scheduled to give a public address before departing for Tibetan settlement in Bomdila.
