Bomdila, Arunachal Pradesh: Upon his arrival at Bomdila on the evening of 9 November after completing visitations in Tenzingang, Sikyong Penpa Tsering was received by Shri Karma Leki (Deputy Commissioner of West Kameng), Shri Sang Khandu (Additional Deputy Commissioner), Khen Rinpoche and Heads of the Departments of West Kameng district, Bomdila.
Sikyong Penpa Tsering and the local dignitaries visited Thubchog Gatsel Ling monastery and addressed the Tibetan community.
Accompanied by the aforementioned local dignitaries, Sikyong Penpa Tsering paid a visit to Tsona Gontse Ganden Rabgyeling monastery and met with Khen Rinpoche Geshe Dhondup Tsering before heading towards Thubchog Gatsel Ling.
Highlighting His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s benevolence towards the Tibetan community, Sikyong stressed the latter’s dedicated compliance with His Holiness’ advice and guidance. He also honoured the contributions made by older generations in building this spirited exile Tibetan community.
Furthermore, Sikyong acknowledged the 16th Kashag’s consideration of statistical data as an important tool for strategising and implementing policies while ensuring its firm stand on the Middle Way Policy in resolving the Sino-Tibet conflict. He implored the gathering to make themselves well acquainted with the organisational structure and functioning of the Central Tibetan Administration and urged youths to pay more attention towards the historical factual accounts of Tibet.
After concluding his public talk, Sikyong met and interacted with former MLA Rinchen Khandu Khrimey (National Convener, Core Group for Tibetan Cause) and Chairman Leki of Rupa, Tenzing Gompa Khrimey and retired Senior Finance & Accounts Officer of the Govt of Arunachal Pradesh in Bomdila. The group also visited the Men-Tsee-Khang branch in Bomdila.
Thereafter, Sikyong left for his maiden visit to Tawang, a significant Indian district in the contemporary history of Tibet.
