
DHARAMSHALA: Honorable Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay attended the final days of the Kalachakra teaching by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Ladakh at the invitation of Ladakh Buddhist Association. Dr. Tondup Tsewang, president of Ladakh Buddhist Association and Mr. Dhondup Tashi, Chief Representative Officer, Sonamling Tibetan Settlement, welcomed Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay at Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Terminal at Leh on his arrival on 10 July.
On 11 July, Sikyong addressed Tibetans in Ladakh at their newly built community hall which has a seating capacity of around two thousand people. The auditorium was filled to the capacity and some people had to sit outside during his talk. Sikyong also held informal meeting the next day with local Tibetan leaders of various organisations to exchange views and suggestions regarding Tibetan cause in general and the welfare of Tibetans in Ladakh area in particular.
During his visit to Ladakh, honorable Sikyong met Mr Ngawang Rigzin Jora, minister for Urban Development and Urban Bodies, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Rigzin Spalbar, Chief Executive Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Mr Thupsten Chhewang, member of the parliament and others. He also attended dinners hosted by various institutions such as the Ladakh International Centre. Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay returned to Delhi from Ladakh on 14 July.
