Sikyong Joins Offering of Long-Life Prayers to the 104th and 105th Gaden Tri Rinpoches in Mundgod

Mundgod: Sikyong Penpa Tsering, the incumbent Kalon (Minister) of the Department of Religion and Culture (CTA), attended a ceremony on 27 November 2024, where long-life prayers were offered to the 105th Gaden Tripa Jetsun Lobsang Dorjee Pelsangpo and the 104th Gaden Tripa Jetsun Lobsang Tenzin Pelsangpo at the Ganden Tritok Khang.

Based on the Sutra Tradition, the offering was jointly organised by the International Gelug Foundation, the North America Gelug Monlam Committee, and the Central Tibetan Administration.

During the ceremony, the Abbot of Gaden Shartse Monastery, Sikyong Penpa Tsering, and Yangten Rinpoche, representing the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, made offerings of the mandala and the three jewels to the 104th and 105th Gaden Tri Rinpoches.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Tibetan Justice Commissioner Tenzin Lungtok, several Tibetan Parliamentarians, the Representative of Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Representative of Sakya Dolma Phodrang, Abbots of Gaden Shartse and Jangtse Monasteries, Abbots of Tashi Lhunpo and Rato Monasteries, Chief Representative Officer of the South Zone, Secretary of the Delhi-based Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Mundgod Tibetan Settlement Officer, and representatives from all schools of Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan civil societies.
