Dharamshala: Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay of the Central Tibetan Administration inaugurated Vikas Children’s Park at the State War Memorial in Dharamshala today.
Sikyong was accompanied by Finance Kalon Karma Yeshi and in attendance were the governing council members of the War Memorial Society led by Col KKS Dadwal and the staff of the Dept. of Finance.
Addressing media persons after the inauguration, Sikyong said that the children’s park is a gratitude initiative dedicated to the local Indians in the name of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his 85 glorious years spent and continues to devote to the well being of all sentient beings.
Finance Kalon Karma Yeshi said that Vikas Children’s Park is an initiative of the Department of Finance as part of CTA’s year-long campaign to express gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and to thank the Indian people of Dharamshala.
“Dharamshala being the abode of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and a popular tourist attraction, both locals and the tourists can enjoy and avail the benefits of the park”, he said.
The Central Tibetan Administration led by the 15th Kashag dedicated the year from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021 as ‘Year of Gratitude to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and so through its various departments, CTA has launched various projects in observance of the gratitude year.
President of the War Memorial Society, Col KKS Dadwal expressed his thanks to the leadership of CTA for building the facility and offered his good wishes and prayers for the swift resolution of Tibet’s issue.
