Dharamshala: Sikyong Penpa Tsering of the Central Tibetan Administration wrote to Thiksay Khenpo Rinpoche, the incumbent head of Thiksay Monastery congratulating the latter on the conferment of the prestigious Padma Shri Award on 25 January.

Sikyong wrote, “With profound respect, I offer my homage and greetings on behalf of the Tibetan people, and congratulate you on the prestigious conferment of the Padma Shri Award. It is a cause for immense pride for all of us, especially for the Tibetans and people across Ladakh, who hold an invaluable asset in your presence”.

Extolling Rinpoche’s outstanding philanthropic contributions, Sikyong added, “We pray for the flourishing of all your meritorious works in the service of Buddha dharma, the Sangha community, and humanity at large”.
