
Sikyong inaugurates staff quarters of Kullu Settlement Office.
Kullu-Manali: On the first day of his official assessment visit of Tibetan community in Kullu-Manali, Sikyong Penpa Tsering inaugurated the new staff quarter of the Kullu-Manali Tibetan Settlement Office, visited the local Tibetan Monastery, Tibetan Settlement Office, offices of local bodies and Tibetan dispensary. During the visit, he enquired after the community’s welfare concerns and directed the accompanying Home Department representatives accordingly to process them.
Sikyong then paid visit to Von Ngari Monastery, Mentseekhang, Deckyiling Tibetan cluster community, Sakya Evam Shedrup Choekhorling followed by visit and address to the staff and students of Sambhota Tibetan School, Kullu-Manali. He assessed the conditions of the institutions and assured the public of his support wherever needed.
Later in the afternoon, he visited 15 Mile Tibetan colony, TCV Patlikulh Vocational Training Centre, Patlikulh Tibetan community, Pangang Ritroe Ngagyur Samten Choeling and Dhakpo Shedrupling monastery. Sikyong expressed his hope that the Himalayan states would extend their support to the monasteries as the Himalayan population makes up much of the population.
Sikyong was accompanied by the Kullu Settlement Officer Tsultrim Dorje-led staff and representatives of the local bodies.
