
DHARAMSHALA: Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay on Monday visited College for Higher Tibetan Studies at Sarha near Dharamsala. He was there to speak to the new recruits of the Central Tibetan Administrative services after their completion of the five-month comprehensive training.
More than 200 people attended the talk including the entire staff and students of the Tibetan college.
In his address, Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay talked about the importance of teachers and civil servants for the development of a community. He also talked about the importance of education including the preservation of traditional Tibetan knowledge like Tibetan culture, religion and language.
Sikyong Dr Sangay encouraged the students to pursue excellence in their studies and fulfil the aspirations of the Tibetan people.
Forty candidates had been recruited by the Public Service Commission of the Central Tibetan Administration. The new recruits were given a five-month training in basic accountancy, Tibetan political situation, current affairs, Tibetan and English language etc. After the completion of the training, the recruits will have to sit for a final entrance examination to join the CTA service.
