
A delegation of local Tibetans in Shillong led by Settlement officer Pema Dhondup met Governor Shri Satya Pal Malik of Meghalaya on 13 August 2021.
Shillong: On behalf of the Central Tibetan Administration, Tibetan settlement officer of Shillong Mr. Pema Dhondup accompanied by office secretary Ms. Tenzin Yangchen, Mentsekhang Dr. Tenzin Tsomo and representatives from the local Tibetan Buddhist monasteries paid a visit to honourable Governor Shri Satya Pal Malik on 13 August to mark the auspicious occasion of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 86th Birthday.
Settlement officer offered the honourable Governor a traditional Tibetan white scarf and mementos as a token of gratitude to the Indian government for their hospitality and support to the Tibetan cause. Moreover, on behalf of the Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, Mr. Pema Dhondup made a requisition to seek funding towards the construction of a new monastery and cultural centre to which Governor assured assistance and contribution from the Raj Bhavan.
