Senior Tibetan Language Teachers’ Workshop Held at Sarnath

Dharamshala: According to a report received from the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, the Education Department organised a Tibetan language workshop for the postgraduate teachers from 8-12 February at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (CIHTS), Sarnath.
19 senior Tibetan language teachers from 16 Tibetan schools across India and Nepal attended the workshop.
At the inaugural function, the chief guest Prof. Ngawang Samten, Director of the CIHTS, stressed upon the need to provide our children a meaningful education not only for the intellectual development but also the spiritual development, which would help to create a harmonious and peaceful society.
The workshop mainly focused on the effective teaching of the Tibetan language, dialectics, and the Basic Education Policy of the CTA. It also gave a platform to the participants to share their teaching experiences.
The resource persons comprised of learned scholars from the CIHTS.
Education Officer Tsering Samdup and Under-Secretary Kalsang Rinchen of the Education Department coordinated the five-day training programme.
