DHARAMSHALA: The selection process for Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) 2016 is currently underway at Nyatri hall in Gangchen Kyishong, the seat of the Central Tibetan Administration.
“A total of 102 students have applied for the scholarship. However, only 82 have turned up after four applicants withdrew and four were declared ineligible,” said Mr. Kelsang Rinchen, head of the scholarship section of the Department of Education.
“The General Written Test on Tibet (GWTT), is being held today. The document verification of the applicants was conducted yesterday. The results of the written test will determine the selected applicants for the final interview,” he added.
The selected applicants from the written test will appear for the final interview on 4, 5 and 6 May after which the top 15 applicants will be selected for TOEFL test orientation.
The Tibetan Scholarship Program is sponsored by ECA and administered through a Cooperative Agreement with The Tibet Fund, in collaboration with the Central Tibetan Administration’s (CTA) Department of Education (DOE).
Applications are accepted from eligible Tibetan refugees residing in India and Nepal for a two-year Master’s degree program in the United States, pending availability of funds.
