A total of 26 images of the Tibetan spiritual leader are to be unveiled at the Glens and Kirriemuir Old Parish Church today.
They have been selected from the 1,500 photographs taken by Jack and Marion MacDonald during the Tibetan spiritual leader’s visit |
Kirriemuir photographers Jack and Marion MacDonald were commissioned to be the official photographers during His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit to Scotland in June 2004.
The couple spent time documenting His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s attendance at events in Edinburgh and Dunfermline to promote world peace.
Mr MacDonald said the exhibition features 26 images chosen from 1,500 featuring His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
He said: “It was amazing, absolutely fantastic. He was delightful with everybody. He is very charismatic, with a great sense of humour and an aura of great wisdom.”
“It was an honour and a privilege to waive our fees, as did most of the other professional contributors to this great occasion.”
The exhibition can be seen at the Glens and Kirriemuir Old Parish Church until 24 August. It will be open to the public between 9.30 am and noon from Monday to Saturday, and 2-4 pm from Monday until Thursday.
