SME: Please explain your job description and how does your work represent you or vice versa?
TD: Presently I am working as the Herbertpur Tibetan Settlement Officer in Uttarakhand and I took charge of TSO on 6 November 2019. I firmly believe that I represent the voices of people.
SME: What inspired you to serve the CTA?
TD: During my schooling days in Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV), our teacher and respected elderly Tibetans would inspire us to render our services in Tibetan society under the blessing of His Holiness the Dalai lama. Having said that, I joined at His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Charitable Trust under business unit from 30 January 1983 to 7 April 2004, and as a civil servant of Central Tibetan Administration from 8 April 2004 until today.
SME: What does it mean for you to be a civil servant CTA?
TD: Genuinely speaking, to me, the word civil servant means public servant or in broader sense humanity and ethics facilitators based on ground reality. I always considered myself fortunate to be a part of the Central Tibetan Administration.
SME: How best do you think you can make a difference to CTA.
TD: Being a public servant, we should always strive to perform our duty with dedication, sincerity, honest and faithful. To make a difference to CTA, one should embrace compassionate motivation combine with modern education in these crucial hours of need.
SME: Who is your role model and why?
TD: Professor Samdhong Rinpoche and Dr. Lobsang Sangay are the role model in my life. They have worked in their best capacity for the cause of Tibet. Because in reality, each person contribution counts for the nation.
SME: What is your piece of the advice for the young Tibetan servicing or wishing to serve at CTA?
TD: At this crucial time of need, it is very important to keep our struggle alive. I would urge young Tibetan civil servant to put their heart into their work. To those young Tibetans who wish to serve the CTA, they must study hard and get more knowledge about the administration of CTA in general.
