Kathmandu: Coordinator for Tibetans in Nepal Tsepri Lopan Tulku Ngawang Chokdup paid visits to Namgyal Higher Secondary School and Srongtsen Bhrikuti Boarding High School to apprise the Tibetan and Himalayan students about Tibet cause on 9 November 2022.
Considering the importance of education as the backbone of modern society, the newly appointed Coordinator kicked off his official visitations to settlements and organisations under his jurisdictions by addressing students of the aforementioned educational institutions.
During his interaction with the students, the Coordinator talked about an array of topics concerning Tibet and the Tibetan cultural heritages that are also shared by the Himalayan communities. He also spoke about the Nalanda tradition from which Tibetan Buddhism originated, along with the importance of preserving Tibet’s language, traditions and customs identical to the Himalayas.
The Coordinator, who also visited Atisha school in Jawalakhel on a subsequent day, lauded the administration of the Namgyal Higher Secondary School for imparting Tibetan education as part of the school’s syllabus.
