Taiwan: Representative Kelsang Gyaltsen Bawa and Secretary Sonam Dorjee of the Office of Tibet, Taiwan visited Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche at his residence earlier this morning.
During their meeting, Representative Kelsang presented a brief report on the tasks undertaken by the office as well as the works of other Offices of Tibet spread across 13 nations. He also presented Rinpoche, a collection of the Taiwan office’s trimonthly magazines and other publications consisting of the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and books related to Tibet issue.
Representative Kelsang further informed Rinpoche about their intent to organise a debate and exhibition on epistemology and logic in the context of Tibetan Buddhism in collaboration with Taiwan’s Hsuan Chuang University in December. Meanwhile, Rinpoche presented them with a collection of his works.
Later in the afternoon, a meeting presided over by Jonang Gyaltsab Rinpoche, attended by representatives of various Tibetan Buddhist sects and delegation of OOT Taiwan was held at Nyingma Buddhist Centre. At the meeting, members of Prayers for World Peace Committee presented a report on the Mass Prayer for World peace event held in early May in which His Holiness the Dalai Lama virtually addressed the Taiwanese devotees and imparted teaching on Heart Sutra.
The meeting concluded with remarks from Gyaltsab Rinpoche and Representative Kelsang.
