Johannesburg: On the invitation of Gandhi Walk committee, Representative attended a dignitary felicitation function at Gandhi Hall in Lenasia Township in Johannesburg on 23rd of April. The function was organised to facilitate dignitaries, artists, sponsors, individuals including Miss South Africa, Miss Earth South Africa, who were involved in organizing the 32nd Gandhi Walk which saw the participation of more than 3500 South Africans from all walks of life and colours.
The Representative had the opportunity to introduce the office of Tibet in South Africa and briefly touched on the lack of basic freedom for Tibetans in Tibet under the Chinese occupation.
The Gandhi Walk committee has been organising the unity walk for the last thirty two years to keep the spirit of Gandhi’s legacy and promote unity, peace and strengthening the community.
