Cape Town: Representative Ngodup Dorjee attended the State of the Nation Address 2017 as a guest of Inkhata Freedom Party (IFP) on the 9 February 2017.
The State of Nation Address is a Presidential address to a Joint session of Parliament before the start of the full Parliament debate.The other guests of IFK includes Inkosi Elphas Buthelezi (Mayor of Zululand District Municipality), Director General Dean Wang of the Taipei Liaison Office, and Mrs Christina Teichmann of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and others.
The guests were first received at the Chief Whip’s office by Prince Buthelezi and all IFP’s MPs before going into the Parliament building. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with members of the Parliament and express our appreciation to the IFP’s principled stand on the issue of Tibet.
While on a visit to Cape Town to attend the State of Nation Address 2017 of the South African Parliament, he took the opportunity to meet with the local members of Tibet Support Group on the 10 February 2017. Besides introducing himself, he updated them on the current political situation in Tibet; resistance movement inside Tibet and what the Tibet Support Group can do from outside. He thanked the members for their steadfast support and request them to continue it in the coming years.
