Johannesburg: Representative Ngodup Dorjee and Culture Officer Geshe Lobsang Dhondup were invited as special guests to the second Anniversary of the Bangladesh Buddhist Forum on 26 December at LAMRIM Buddhist Center in Johannesburg.
The event was also attended by the High Commissioner of Bangladesh HE Shabbir Ahmad Chowdhury as Chief Guest, Mr Philip Wyse, Trustee of LAMRIM Buddhist Center and over 250 members of the community.
Although, Bangladesh is a Muslim majority country but there are substantial numbers of Buddhists especially in Chittagong Hill Tracks district and Barua community.
Representative Ngodup Dorjee and Geshe Lobsang Dhondup both addressed the gathering and congratulated the Buddhist Forum on its successful efforts in the community mobilization and charitable works that they have undertaken back in Bangladesh without distinction of creed and religions.
