Shri Sujeet Kumar going through a book presented by Representative Ngodup Dongchung
New Delhi: Representative Ngodup Dongchung of Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi called on Shri Sujeet Kumar, Hon’ble MP Rajya Sabha and Convener, All Party Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet (APIPFT) at the latter’s residence on Monday, 31st January, 2022.
Representative Ngodup greeted Shri Kumar with a khatak and congratulated him on being selected as the new APIPFT Convener recently. Shri Kumar reciprocated the gesture by offering a shawl.
Representative Ngodup briefed Shri Kumar about the current situation inside Tibet, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Central Tibetan Administration and its Middle Way Approach. Shri Kumar was also introduced to Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and its role. He further apprised Shri Kumar about the upcoming World Parliamentarians’ Convention on Tibet (WPCT) to be held this year.
Representative Ngodup and Shri Kumar discussed varied other Tibet matters including Tibetan Diaspora. Representative requested Shri Kumar that apart from political, Tibet’s culture, language, religion and environment which are being destroyed by the Communist China to be raised in the Indian Parliament as these are significant to India also.
Shri Kumar assured his full support and help to the Tibet issue as having the responsibility of APIPFT Convener and also in his personal capacity in due respect to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He mentioned that he will do his best to make the APIPFT more active and vigor in advocating for the Tibetan cause.
Representative Ngodup Dongchung expressed his humble thanks to Shri Kumar for his support to the Tibetan cause and offered his best wishes for his future works.
At last, Representative Ngodup Dongchung presented Shri Sujeet Kumar with some books on Tibet namely Tibet Brief 20/20, Political History of Tibet in Hindi and 7th World Parliamentarians’ Convention on Tibet – A report which they briefly discussed.
