Canberra: Representative Karma Singey of the Tibet Information Office (TIO) in Australia on Monday paid his last respects to late Senator Kimberley Kitching who was a steadfast supporter and a friend of the Tibetan people.
Representing His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Representative Karma Singey attended the funeral service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Melbourne and read His Holiness’ condolence message to Andrew Landeryou, husband of the late Senator Kitching.
The service was attended by over 1800 people including Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce, Defence Minister Peter Dutton, Attorney-General Michaelia Cash, former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, opposition leader Anthony Albanese, Victorian Premier Dan Andrews, former leader Bill Shorten and former MP and former Co-chair of Australian All Party Parliamentary support Group for Tibet, Michael Danby.
The President and executive members of the Victoria Tibetan community also attended the service.
